'Surviving Barstool' Makes Barstool Sports clear-cut No. 1 in Content

I did not think this was possible but Barstool Sports has officially supplanted itself in the media industry as the superior content creation platform with its brand new series, Surviving Barstool.

Compacted over four days, the series takes seven Barstool employees and makes them live in the office for a week. On the surface, this appears as a ripoff of the hit show Survivor, but the personalities and cheesiness of Barstool’s rendition put this above its predecessor.

If this were basketball, Survivor is the Julius Erving and Surviving Barstool is the Michael Jordan of YouTube content. From the first day when Tommy Stokes immediately searches for clues to the dramatic ending of a runoff vote to determine the winner, this was the greatest piece of content Barstool has ever created.

I will say that again.

This is the best piece of content Barstool Sports has ever created.

There was a perfect mix of drama, humor and humility that formed a different connection with the audience compared to similar shows, and the pure joy of Tommy Stokes’ face when he won the $10,000 resembles a kid getting his/her dream Christmas gift.

Once again, Barstool Sports has pushed the envelope into a completely new stratosphere and this series was executed to perfection. Tommy, Brianna, and Kelly added the cutthroat, no-holds-barred mentality while Trysta, Donnie, and Nick played the relatively honest and relatable element, and Zah and Cowboy just gave me pure joy.

The collection of personalities hit a complete home-run, which is absurd given that this was the first time Barstool had done something like this. They could’ve gone the route of bringing in some of the older talent in the company for the clicks, but the finished product would’ve been out of touch. As for KFC, he is a master as a host and stole the spotlight on a few occasions, which shouldn’t be a surprise but I was still loving him as a host nonetheless.

Overall, I cannot give Barstool Sports more praise. This project was amazing front to back and executed perfectly in all facets of production, storytelling and just amazing characters. Now more than ever, raunchy content takes the Internet by storm and once again, Barstool proves it’s ahead of the curve.
